Im here! Im actually in Thailand! Finally I can cross the land of smiles off my bucket list. First impressions are everything I wanted it to be and more!
After 17.5 hours of travelling, I could have landed at Luton airport and been happy about it. The journey was on Emirates and economy was great, but you still feel like you have had a run in with a dementor. Our bags came round on the carousel faster than I have ever known before! We were out of the terminal in about half an hour from landing! Our transfer picked us up with no waiting around and we were straight on our way to the Bamboo beach hotel and spa in Kalim. Just on the outskirts of Patong beach.
The hotel is very shabby chic but its absolutely perfect! Its nice and quiet and not on one of the main roads so you cant hear the traffic. The pool is a great size for the amount of visitors (if was only the 3 of us round it earlier) and the room is huge! Each room has air conditioning which is definitely needed as its 32degrees celsius today. For £12 a night including breakfast, you couldn’t go wrong!
After unpacking, we took a stroll down to Patong beach which was stunning! The water was like a bath! Its crystal clear too! Im still so shocked how cheap everything is in Thailand. For lunch including 8 beers it costs around £20 for the 3 of us. Our excursions have cost us in the region of £40pp which all include lunch etc however ill tell you more about those when we do them.
So first impressions of the place are fantastic and I cant wait to see more of this beautiful country! I am going to try and write everyday however the wifi isn’t great!
